Edwardian five-stone diamond ring, c1920
Here’s a very sweet yet affordable handcrafted Edwardian diamond ring.
The round diamonds are single-cuts, which are also known as eight-cuts – in reference to the number of top facets.
They became popular as an alternative to small rose-cut diamonds in early 20th century jewellery, owing to their greater brilliance.
We love the scalloped design and the lightness created by separating the diamonds from their border.
Yet this is a sturdy ring with solid sides and secure bezel set diamonds, making it suitable for careful everyday wear.
