Old mine cut diamond cluster ring, c1935
Here’s a high-quality, low-profile diamond cluster ring with a twist – two of them!
The bezel-set old mine cut diamond in the centre is framed top and bottom by two platinum “ribbons” that appear to twist together over the shoulders.
This halo is set with 26 white, bright and well-matched single cut diamonds, with the space between the elements bringing lightness to the skilfully worked design, and the millegrain finish adding delicacy.
When this jewel was made in the early part of the 20th century, jewellers had discovered that platinum could hold gemstones securely using far less metal than gold.
If treated with care, this is a ring suitable for everyday wear.
