Edwardian diamond rectangular plaque ring, c1920
Here's an appealing pavé-set diamond ring from about 1920.
The geometric design shows early elements of the Art Deco movement but the construction is more Edwardian, given the 18-carat yellow gold body and the platinum top setting.
The diamonds are bright and closely set, shooting sparkles of light from every angle.
And the low bead setting adds to the understated elegance, while adding a practical element – the smooth flat surface is unlikely to catch on anything.
It means that this is a ring that’s suitable for careful everyday wear.
